Alan Comeaux has already faced more trouble and heartbreak than most people experience in a lifetime. "Your Cross" is about your challenges in life without God. He grew up in a churchgoing family: his mother taught him guiding values; his father taught him how to work hard. Alan left home at seventeen and began to create a successful life, but then he lost his first real job. God directed him to leave Louisiana. He left his entire family to come to California. He then encountered the discomfort-and even violence-of homelessness. He was left to die on the streets of LA and though God fearing people he found a home to live in where he was able to get a new start again. The words "Your Cross" was spoken to him from the family who saved him and led him back to God. She said, "I saw your cross hanging from your rear view mirror and I want you to know he is here for you and works though people." His journey back to the God began. Many years of working hard he found is place in sales and real estate. He got married, but his marriage fell apart. He was taught through God about pride, the killer of all relationships. He invested time and money into business opportunities and almost lost everything. Money became a master. Through it all, God was with him, though Alan didn't always acknowledge his presence. God brought Alan and his wife back together with "the one word" God spoke to him. He helped them strengthen their marriage. He taught Alan how to be a good father to his children. Looking back, Alan realizes he had God's help through the difficulties, and he's turned what he's learned into advice to help others grow closer to God. "Your Cross"offers encouragement and inspiration for various aspects of your faith, such as doing God's work, loving unconditionally, healing a broken marriage and other crosses that take time and patience to learn how to carry with confidence.

This groundbreaking volume investigates the most fundamental question of all: Why is there something rather than nothing? The question is explored from diverse and radical perspectives: religious, naturalistic, platonistic and skeptical. Does science answer the question? Or does theology? Does everything need an explanation? Or can there be brute, inexplicable facts? Could there have been nothing whatsoever? Or is there any being that could not have failed to exist? Is the question meaningful after all? The volume advances cutting-edge debates in metaphysics, philosophy of cosmology and philosophy of religion, and will intrigue and challenge readers interested in any of these subjects.

What does it mean to have a life? While science attempts to unravel the mysteries of the universe, and the wonders of the creature we call a human being, religion remains rooted in the dogmas of the past. But religion endures as a powerful force throughout the world, and many of its tenets are forever relevant to human existence. Conflicts continue to rage across many regions of our planet, and millions of people still live in constant fear. We need scientists and theologians to help us understand the human condition, but we also need good leaders to navigate the human race through the dangerous waters to come. Do our experiences of the 20th century offer any hope for the 21st? Can science and religion ever be reconciled, and will the nations of the world one day be able to live together in harmony? Can mankind ever solve the puzzle of life? This book explores these and other questions; its ambition is to throw some light on what it means to be alive at the beginning of the 21st century. Science is explained in terms that should be understandable to everyone, and mathematics does not feature at all.

Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama have both signed bills into law with their left hands. And being left-handed certainly did not hold back the artistic achievements of Michelangelo or Raphael. And the dexterous guitar playing of Jimmi Hendrix may only have been aided by his southpaw tendencies. Left-handedness, in fact, would appear to be no big deal. Yet throughout history, it has been associated with clumsiness and generally dubious personality traits like untrustworthiness and insincerity. Even the Latin word for left, sinister, has ominous connotations. In The Puzzle of Left-handedness, Rik Smits uncovers why history has been so unkind to our lefthanded forebears. He carefully puts together the pieces of the puzzle, presenting an array of historical anecdotes, strange superstitions, and weird wives’ tales. Smits explains how left-handedness continues to be associated with maladies of all kinds, including mental retardation, alcoholism, asthma, hay fever, cancer, diabetes, insomnia, depression, and criminality. Even in the enlightened twenty-first century, left-handedness still meets with opposition—including from one prominent psychologist who equates it with infantile negativism, similar to a toddler’s refusal to eat what’s on his plate, and another who claims that left-handed people have average lifespans that are nine years shorter than those who favor the right hand. As Smits reminds us, such speculation is backed by little factual evidence, and the arguments presented by proponents of right-handedness tend to be humorously absurd. The Puzzle of Left-handedness is an enlightening, engaging, and entertaining odyssey through the puzzles and paradoxes, theories and myths, of left-handed lore. Chock full of facts and fiction, it’s a book to be read with both hands.

Gods Plan of Creation: Written for All Gods Children Who Want to Know and Are Not Afraid to Think offers scripturally informed answers to questions arising in peoples minds as they wonder about the nature of God and His designs for all of creation. By using a three-part structure that examines the Siege, the Legacy, and the Story, Robert N. Smith brings to bear both his long study of the Scriptures and his insights to provide guidance for all who want to know and are not afraid to think. The first part, the Siege, presents an inquiry and review of humanitys continuing efforts to gain hold of its Legacy. The focus of the second portion of Gods Plan of Creation, the Legacy entails the gifts that God has chosen to give to humanity and that people today have received from the hands of their forebears in the faith. Finally, the Story displays a visual timeline of creation, plotting out key points of theology and cosmology. It is laid out landscape, therefore it does not fit the book format. Part 3 is in progress and will follow soon. If you see the world in all its beauty, complexity, and diversity and you find yourself wondering about the God who made all things and about His desires for how humanity fits into His plans, then Gods Plan of Creation: Written for All Gods Children Who Want to Know and Are Not Afraid to Think will pour out insights worth pondering. It takes a fearless and eyes-wide-open look at God and His plans and invites you to join in a journey of vision and discovery.

Song's theology is a startling rebuke to Christologies centered either in historical-critical searches or church doctrines. For Song, theology is the biography of God, and God's reign is evident in stories of God's saving presence in Jesus. The reign of God in Jesus "becomes manifest through movements of people to be free from the shackles of the past, to change the status quo of the present, and to have a role to play in the arrival of the future".
